COMIC CON – ‘INTELLIGENCE’ PANEL DISCUSSION (TRANSCRIPT OF MARG’S PORTION)
July 18, 2013
“If you had this ability, this chip what would you do with it?”
Marg: “I think I would just love to be able to learn every language so I could travel everywhere and seem smart.”
“Lillian refers to Gabriel as an ‘it’. Do you feel, do you look at Josh as an ‘it’? Is he your ‘it’? Your toy to play with?”
Marg: “Well, I remember when I read that when I read the pilot, and even asked you guys that when we had the initial meeting, because I wanted to know how much humanity she has towards Gabriel… and I think I have enormous humanity towards him. But I think because I am sort of the person who’s on top, of this project called Clockwork, which was created, this microchip on the brain, etc., etc., I think I’m seeing such a much bigger picture that it’s involving. You know, not just this agency, but the entire United States government, and the United States safety, so maybe I have a slip of the tongue when I say ‘it’. But I don’t think Gabriel at all feels that way.
“By the end she is already feeling for this guy and more emotion it seems like and letting him look for his love.”
Marg: “Right. Well yeah, absolutely.”
“Marg, any aspects of Catherine Willows in the character? You played that for so long. How do you step out of that and create this new woman without that other voice in your head?”
Marg: “Well, first off, this is the federal government. This isn’t the Las Vegas police department. And I’m in charge. I mean, you know, having said that, that was such a wonderful, you know, eleven years I spent on that show with wonderful people. But I was looking for a new challenge and, low and behold, here I am. So onto another eleven years.”
