COMIC CON 2013 INTERVIEWS – TRANSCRIPT HIGHLIGHTS

July 18, 2013

Since most of the interviews asked the same questions, this is a transcript of some highlights of Marg’s answers.

From CBS Interview:

“If you could, explain to me and the rest of America and the world what this show is about. In a nut shell, for people who don’t know.”

Marg: “I’m a head of this agency called ‘The Cyber Command’. Lillian Strand is my character’s name. And we started a program there called ‘Clockwork’, which was developing a microchip that we placed in Josh’s brain, Gabriel Black (His name has since been changed to Gabriel Vaughn) that interfaces with the information grid. Meghan plays a character named Riley, who’s a secret service agent — top notch I might add — to keep an eye on him because he has some personal issues that sometimes gets in the way of him acting in a professional manner.”

“If you guys could have an app in your head, what app would that be and why?”

Marg: “How about just to materialize someplace? You wouldn’t have to take that twelve hour flight to Paris. Just like, Bam! You’re there.”

“What is the experience like being here amongst the fans?”

Marg: “This is my first time here at Comic Con so I’m just taking it all in. I have to say I likeed watching the pilot screening with the group of five thousand fans. And I think you are right. They are just so committed to the product and want to like it.

From OMG! Insider:

Marg: “I describe it more of an action adventure. James Bond meets Mission Impossible.”

“You’ve been out of TV for a couple years. What did it take to get you back?”

Marg: “Well, ultimately the script. It was just very smart and inventive and had incredible potential.”

From TVEquals.com:

“The show in one word.”

Marg: “Badass!”

“How about your character?”
Marg: “Enigmatic.”

From TVaddict:

“What will the audience love the most about your show?”

Marg: “Definitely it’s action packed. There isn’t a dull moment. It’s a densely written script. It’s got great visual effects. The technology, I think, is very current. Also, it asks a lot of questions about humanity vs. technology and how much one should stay connected or disconnected from all that. So that will all be explored as we continue.

“What was it about your role that stuck out and made you want to do this project?”

Marg: “I love playing a woman in power. There are certain women that I kept in mind while playing this role. Hillary Clinton being the #1 person I was thinking of. She was still Secretary of State — well, I guess she was just leaving that position. But I just thought of her: every country she would travel to and these diplomatic relations that she had to have with each one of these heads of state. It was just mind-blowing to me how she pulled it off. So that always is inspiring to have those role models.

From TVline:

“Marg, you’re coming off thirteen years, ten years on CSI. What was your desire to come back to that hour long grind?”

Marg: “No one can be more surprised than me at times that I’m going back into another television show. Having said that, I am delighted to be doing this show and I’m delighted to be working with these two lovely people. The script. It all has to come from the script. That has to be the first thing that strikes you. And it did. I liked the character Lillian Strand very much. I was always wanting to play a woman that was head of a federal agency. Seriously, I have so much admiration for the women who do. The technology was, I think, a lot of people are fascinated by, and I too felt the show had a lot of places in which we can delve into, global as well as domestic. We shot the pilot and I was so thrilled to see how it turned out. I think both Meghan and Josh did an incredible job, as did all the people involved with the show. It’s got something for everybody. It really does have a broad appeal.
