MARG AND THE NFL
Lifetime Television
January 31, 2002
When the New England Patriots battle the St. Louis Rams on Super Bowl Sunday in New Orleans, “CSI” star and Oakland Raiders fan MARG HELGENBERGER will be among the 80,000 fans cheering them on.
“I’m so excited about going to the Super Bowl and being in New Orleans,” declares the Nebraska-born Marg, who acquired a taste for football growing up in the Midwest.
But before she heads to the Big Easy, Marg will don a nondenominational football jersey sporting the number 32 as host of Lifetime’s NFL Films special, “Her Life & the NFL.” The show spotlights women whose lives have been affected by football.
CINDY GRUDEN, wife of Oakland Raider’s coach JON GRUDEN; New York Jets owner WOODY JOHNSON, who raises funds for Lupus research; and NIKKI JOHNSON, wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback BRAD JOHNSON, all tell their stories to Marg on the pre-Super Bowl special, airing Friday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m.
Lifetime, which specializes in programs for women, has created the hour-long special for the 54 million American women who are football lovers.
