MARG & ALAN CHAT WITH RYAN SEACREST ON THE RED CARPET AT THE 12TH ANNUAL SAG AWARDS
E!, January 29, 2006
Ryan Seacrest: I’m with Marg and Alan, who’s the president of SAG. So you know all the secrets. You can tell us what’s happening tonight.
Alan: I do, but I can’t tell you.
Ryan: I heard that Jake and Heath are doing something on stage together, live.
Alan: Are they really?
Ryan: Come on, you know. What’s going to be the big moment people are going to be talking about?
Alan: I really don’t know. I’m just thrilled to be here. It’s my first time at the SAG awards.
Ryan: Is that right?
Alan: Yeah, yeah.
Marg: You came to the SAG awards, didn’t you?
Alan: No, I was working. I was out of town working.
Marg: Oh, oh that’s right.
Ryan: How long have you guys been together?
Marg: (Laughing)
Alan: Twenty years.
Ryan: That’s what happens.
Alan: That’s what happens. Married for sixteen years.
Ryan: That means you have a very successful relationship…you can’t remember.
Marg: Oh my god, wow! That’s a trip!
Alan: This is the only way I can, in fact, get invited to the SAG awards is to win an election. I’ve never been nominated myself.
Marg: Yes, you have.
Alan: Not for a SAG award.
Marg: For Cybill.
Ryan: This is going to be a limo conversation after everything tonight, I have a feeling.
Alan: Oh sorry, I actually won one for Cybill. Sorry.
Marg: Yes.
Ryan: You’re sleeping in the other bed tonight, okay.
Marg: …for the early SAG awards.
Ryan: What was your big break? Looking back at the beginning of everything, what was like that one moment that was the big break for you?
Marg: You know what…it was a production of the Taming of the Shrew at Northwestern University and I was seen by a casting agent, which led to a gig on a soap opera, which led to blah, blah, blah, New York agent.
Alan: Which is where we met.
Marg: Yeah exactly. We got that right.
Ryan: Good save. Double or nothing. Who made her dress?
Alan: Somebody she’s never heard of before, but a wonderful dress designer. Right? This is a first for you wearing this designer?
Marg: I’ve not worn this woman before, no. Her name is Sunny Choi.
Alan: It’s really beautiful.
Ryan: Very lovely.
Marg: Thank you, thank you.
Ryan: You guys have fun tonight. Great to see you.
Alan: Thank you, Ryan. It’s a pleasure to meet you.
Marg: Great to see you. We love watching the show.
Alan: We’re big fans.
Ryan: Thank you very much.
Marg: Yeah, huge fans.
Ryan: Cheers. Enjoy!
