Known for her role as Catherine Willows on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” Marg Helgenberger is an Emmy Award-winning actress and a proud mom.
Marg was originally discovered by a scout from the soap opera, “Ryan’s Hope,” who saw her in a University of Nebraska-Kearney production of Shakespeare’s, “The Taming of the Shrew.” One year later, she made her first television appearance on the show playing the role of Siobhan Ryan Novak.
Shortly after her debut, Marg appeared in her first major role as KC Koloski in the television drama, “China Beach.” Her performance won her an Emmy Award in 1990 for Best Supporting Actress. In 2000, Marg landed the role of Catherine Willows in “CSI:Crime Scene Investigation.” She has appeared in a number of films including “Erin Brokovich” (2000), “In Good Company” (2004) and “Mr. Brooks” (2007).
Marg has been listed as one of VH1’s “Hottest Women over 40” (2004), People’s “50 Most Beautiful People” (2003), and Esquire’s “5 More Women We Love” (2002). In 2007, she was named one of the most pleasant celebrities by E! Online and rated one of the sexiest TV stars of 2007 by TV Guide.
In addition to her acting, Marg is very involved in supporting breast cancer research; each year, she and her husband host a “Celebrity Weekend” to raise money for the cause. Marg is currently married to fellow actor Alan Rosenberg.
