BBC RADIO 1 – INTERVIEW WITH MARG HELGENBERGER (TRANSCRIPT )
Radio Host – Natalie Jamieson
November 11, 2011
Marg: Well, I’ve been toying with that, leaving the show, for a couple of years. Originally I was going to have it be the end of last season. The executive producer of the show convinced me to stick around for a few episodes this season, and I’m glad she did because now I’ve had the opportunity to work with Ted Danson, who’s on the show this year, and he has been a joy to work with. Yeah, a delight.
Natalie: So you’ve had Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Travis Barker on there. How were those three to work with?
Marg: And I had actually no scenes with any of them. So I…I know that Taylor Swift was — everybody adored her. She’s as sweet as she appears in, you know, in all of her interviews or her performances… I actually had — one performer you didn’t mention was Roger Daltrey. He was on season seven, I believe, and I had a scene with him which I really enjoyed. And you know, I’ve been a fan of the Who and of his own solo career, and that was a thrill.
Natalie: And what about Bieber?
Marg: Justin. I didn’t have anything to do with him. Oh, I had one — there was one little scene in which we were together. And actually, you know, he was really sweet to me, you know. And I know people have pointed out comments that I made at one point, and I regret saying them. Not that they weren’t true, I just, you know, I said it sort of, like, as part of… the interview being sort of, you know, silly and anyway… (Marg chuckles.) Yeah, I think he’s a very talented kid. Young guy.
