MARG & JOSH DISCUSS “INTELLIGENCE” WITH WISHTV INDIANAPOLIS (TRANSCRIPT)

Jessica Hayes: We’ve got two of the stars from the new show that’s going to debut tonight on CBS. We’re talking Intelligence. We’ve got Marg Helgenberger joining us and Josh Holloway. Good to see both of you this morning.
Josh: Good morning.
Marg: Thank you. Good to see you…well almost.
Jessica Hayes: Almost. Where are you guys enjoying us from this morning?
Marg: Los Angeles.
Jessica Hayes: Los Angeles, oh good. So it’s a lot warmer there than it is here. You know, we’re suffering with some majorly cold temperatures here in Indiana. Before I get to talking about Intelligence…real quick, I read somewhere, Marg, that you at one point were a local meteorologist or a weather girl.
Josh: Were you? Do tell!
Marg: I was, for a summer in Kearney, Nebraska. And I made my own maps up. I compiled all my info from the AP, PI wire services. I did it all.
Josh: Really?!
Marg: For fifteen dollars a broadcast. How about that?
Josh: Fantastic!
Jessica Hayes: That’s so cool. Okay, now that we have the weather discussion out of the way, I read that and had to ask you about it. But I know you guys have got to be super excited about this new project that’s going to premiere tonight right here on CBS at 9:00 P.M., but tell me a little bit about Intelligence. I mean, Josh, your character has a implant in his brain that allows him to access all databases. So are we talking more machine or more man here?
Josh: Well, in my case, it would have to be more man. It’s ironic that they cast me for this part considering I would need a computer shoved in my brain to use one. (Marg and Josh laugh.) I try to keep up with technology, but I’m sadly behind. But yeah, the show’s a super fun, spy, action, fast paced, joy ride. It’s a lot of fun without the technology and then you add the technology or the technical side to it. It’s just a lot of fun and very current.
Marg: Fun visual effects.
Josh: Yeah.
Marg: Great characters.
Josh: Great characters and fast moving, action packed. It’s fun.
Marg: Yeah. He’s an action stud.
Josh: Yeah right. Talk to me, girl.
Marg: It’s true. I mean it.
Josh: I like it when the weather girl talks to me like that.
(Marg and Josh laugh.)
Jessica Hayes: I know. He’s never going to let that die now, right? Let the cat out of the bag on that one.
Josh: No, I’m not.
Jessica Hayes: Couldn’t either when I saw it. But let’s talk…people who knew you mostly for that tremendous role you played, Sawyer, with Lost. Are you picking up that there are some really good chemistry on this set? Because Lost, the chemistry there was just incredible and I know that you guys probably miss working together. And are we going to see that same sort of fabulous chemistry? I hope we do.
Josh: Absolutely. The cast is incredible and the pilot is good and fun and sets the story up. But as the story develops, it’s just so…the characters have really broadened and the dimension of each character has broadened quite a bit. So yes, the chemistry between everyone on the set is amazing. And just, the character relationships are really developing now and becoming more than even I had hoped for. And I got my two hot co-stars. I mean, come on, I’m book-ended by hotness! I’m pretty cool, I’m pretty set with it.
Jessica Hayes: Well, let’s be honest, nobody plays tough, smart, and sexy quite like Marg does. So we’re looking forward to seeing the show.
Josh: Copy that.
Jessica Hayes: Yeah, exactly.
Marg: Thank you.
Josh: Alright.
Marg: Thank you.
