For the music lovers out there, I have set up the The Marg Helgenberger Musical Experience over at Last.fm. It is a musical library that showcases musicians Marg has listed as favorites over the years. Give it a listen.

It should come as no surprise that Marg’s taste in music is as colorful and kick-ass as the actress is herself.

She has some sentimental favorites like Steve Winwood’s ‘Higher Love,’ which she and her husband danced to when they got married and Steely Dan’s ‘Babylon Sisters,’ which she loves for the lyrics “Drive west on Sunset to the sea,” because she and Alan did that on their first date.

She also lists Bob Marley’s ‘One Love’ as a favorite. “It’s a really beautiful song and a simple message. You can’t help but feel better when you sing along to that.”

Madonna is also a fave: “Life will always be good as long as Madonna is around. I don’t think of her as a guilty pleasure anymore – she’s an outright pleasure” (In Style magazine, Sept 2006).

“I’m in a music phase right now. Lately I’ve been listening to Arcade Fire’s “Neon Bible” and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. BRMC are friends of mine, and I’ve been following them since they first came out. I saw Arcade Fire at the Coachella Festival and I saw them at the Greek Theater. They’re amazing.” (Lifetime.com, Sept 2007).

Marg’s admiration of theBlack Rebel Motorcycle Club is clear. She knows the boys personally and is proud of the fact that they are independent: “They just want to do the music they want to do, and never listen to the record company…They’re anti-image, and they don’t want to do anything that’s part f the Establishment.”

And in March 2009, Marg was spotted in Las Vegas where she was attending a Cher concert.

During an April 1, 2009 appearance on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman,’ Marg expressed great excitement at Paul Schaffer’s selection of the heavy metal tune AC/DC’s ‘Hell’s Bells’ to introduce her to the audience. “I love AC/DC!,” Marg exclaimed.
