After Midnight – A 1989 horror film that co-starred Marg and Alan Rosenberg. Marg played Alex, a young woman who works at an answering service and who has to contend with a stalker, played by Rosenberg, while she is alone on duty.

Alan Rosenberg – Marg’s husband from 1989-2010. They have one child together, Hugh Howard Rosenberg, who was born in 1990. In addition to being married, Marg and Alan also co-starred together in After Midnight, Giving Up the Ghost and two episodes of CSI.

Alex – The character that Marg portrayed in After Midnight.

Alice – The character that Marg portrayed in Columbus Day.

Alison Sinclair – The character Marg portrayed in Bad Boys.

Always – A romantic adventure story about a legendary pilot’s passion for dare-devil firefighting and his girl. It was directed by Steven Spielberg and featured Holly Hunter and Richard Dreyfuss. Marg played the minor character of Rachel, a mechanic at the hangar who has a crush on Ted, played by Brad Johnson.

Ann Foreman – The character Marg portrayed in In Good Company.

Ann Helgenberger – Marg’s older sister.

Bad Boys – A Jerry Bruckheimer film that deals with two hip detectives, played by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, who must protect a murder witness while investigating a case of heroin that was stolen from inside of their own police department, an apparent inside job. Marg plays the role of Alison Sinclair, a tough cookie who pops up occasionally in the film to make life hell for whoever she is after.

Behind Enemy Lines – Loosely based on the 2001 Owen Wilson/Gene Hackman movie, the Fox project is described as a military soap thriller wherein a group of U.S. soldiers find themselves trapped behind enemy lines. The “distinctly patriotic series” will offer a multi-perspective narrative that follows soldiers on the ground, the officers and service men and women on a nearby aircraft carrier and intelligence officers in D.C. as they attempt to bring our heroes home safely and under the radar. Marg plays Admiral Bobbie Decker, a Navy Admiral who’s the most powerful woman in the military. Described as fierce but fair and a no BS straight shooter, she will do anything to keep her men and women safe.

Blind Vengeance – A psychological drama that tells the story of Hagar, a father who has to deal with his emotions after his son is killed by racists who are found not guilty of the killings due to a police procedural error. Marg plays Virginia Whitelaw, the owner of the hotel where Hagar checks in when he comes back to the town where his son was killed to seek retribution for his son’s murder.

Bobbi Anderson – The character Marg portrayed in The Tommyknockers.

Bobbie Decker – The character Marg portrayed in Behind Enemy Lines.

Bookworm – Yes, our Marg is an avid reader. She has also been known to host her own book club on occasion.

Brian Wimmer – Co-starred with Marg on China Beach as Boonie, the on-again-off-again love interest for Marg’s character.

 

Catherine Willows – The character Marg portrayed in CSI. Marg left the series part way through the twelfth season with Catherine leaving CSI to join the FBI.

China Beach – An award-winning and highly acclaimed dramatic series that ran from 1988-1991 and was set at an evacuation hospital during the Vietnam War. Marg played K.C. Koloski, a woman with a troubled past who spent her time at China Beach selling basically anything and everything, including herself.

Chrissie Hynde – Lead singer of The Pretenders and one of the people Marg lists as an inspiration.

Christine Price – The character Marg plays in Season 3 of the CBS series “Under The Dome”. She is an anthropologist who is supposed to provide answers as to why the dome came down over Chester’s Mill, the town where they live.

Columbus Day – a 2008 thriller starring Val Kilmer as John Cologne, a professional thief who reaches out via phone to his ex-wife, Alice, played by Marg, in hopes that she will reunite with him now that he is about to be rich.

Cooper – The character Marg portrayed in thirtysomething.

The Cowboy Way – Film about two cowboys from New Mexico who travel to New York City to rescue the illegal-immigrant daughter of one of their rodeo friends who has mysteriously gone missing. Marg plays Margarette, who runs a modeling agency and who has a little fun with Pepper, played by Woody Harrelson.

Crista Westfield – The grief-stricken mother that Marg portrayed in Death Dreams.

Crooked Hearts – A film that tells the story of how the discovery of a father’s affair affects each member of his family. Marg plays Jennetta, the waitress who has an affair with the father.

CSI – Crime Scene Investigation -An immensely popular American crime drama that trails the investigations of a team of Las Vegas forensic scientists. Marg’s character, Catherine Willows, a single mother and former exotic dancer was, at one time, the supervisor of the graveshift CSI team. Marg left the series part way through the twelfth season with Catherine leaving CSI to join the FBI.

Curt Helgenberger – Marg’s younger brother.

Dana Delany – Marg’s costar on China Beach. Dana played nurse Colleen McMurphy, who often butted heads with Marg’s character, K.C.

Darlene Carpenter – The character Marg portrayed in Just Looking.

David Caruso – Co-starred with Marg in Gold Coast. She also worked with him in the CSI/CSI Miami Crossover episode ‘Cross-Jurisdictions’.

Death Dreams – Made for television movie about a woman named Crista Westfield, played by Marg, whose seemingly perfect life comes crashing down around her when her daughter Jenny tragically drowns and then she learns, by way of somehow communicating with her dead daughter, that her new husband George was involved in Jenny’s death.

Debbie Banister – The character Marg portrayed in When Love Kills: The Seduction of John Hearn.

Dennis Quaid – Played Marg’s husband in the film In Good Company.

Desperate Motive – terrifying suspense thriller that stars David Keith as Harry, and Marg as his fiancee, Connie. E.R. – long-running medical drama that was set in a Chicago hospital. During E.R.’s second season, Marg had a recurring role as Karen Hines, a love interest for Dr. Doug Ross, played by George Clooney.

Erin Brockovich – A film based on the true story of Erin Brockovich, a feisty single mom played by Julia Roberts. While working at a small law firm, Erin stumbles upon a huge case against a giant corporation PG & E. Marg plays Donna Jensen, a woman who has had many serious health problems as a result PG & E’s actions and who is eventually diagnosed with cancer.

Eve Cressy – The character Marg portrayed in Fallen Angels – I’ll Be Waiting.

Fallen Angels – I’ll Be Waiting – an episode in the Fallen Angels series that aired on Showtime for two seasons in the early to mid ’90s. This particular episode was directed by Tom Hanks who also had a small role in it. The storyline revolves around Eve Cressy (played by Marg), who is a gangster’s moll.

Fire Down Below – This film is perhaps best described as an ecological thriller. It tells the story of EPA Marshall Jack Taggart, played by Steven Seagal, who loses his best friend and fellow agent to the hands of a corrupt toxic dump cover-up. Taggart is sent to the town where his friend was killed to investigate the death and find out what he can about the cover-up. Marg plays Sarah Kellogg, the young woman who not only helps Taggart, but also becomes a love interest for him.

Fitness – Marg’s rocking body is the admiration of many. One of the most popular searches on All About Marg are from people looking for her workout routines. To stay fit, Marg exercises four to five times a week, including workouts with her personal trainer, jumping exercises, jogging, hikes with her dog and yoga classes.

Frame by Frame – Sometimes referred to as Conundrum, this is a made-for-television crime drama that stars Marg as Detective Rose Ekberg. Rose and her partner Stash are trying to break a gambling racket in the Vietnamese community.

Frasier – A spinoff of the popular sitcom, Cheers, Frasier starred Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Frasier Crane, a psychiatrist with his own radio talk show and who lives with his father. In the episode ‘Out With Dad,’ Marg plays Emily, a woman Frasier becomes enamored with when he meets her at the opera.

Gena Rowlands – a well known actress and one of the people who has inspired Marg.

George Clooney – Marg played the love interest of George’s character in several Season 2 episodes of E.R.

Georgeanne Bidwell – A character Marg portrayed in Partners.

Gerald McRaney – Marg’s costar in the film Blind Vengeance.

Giving up the Ghost – a made-for-television movie about a woman, Anna Hobson, who is in mourning because her husband, Jake, unexpectedly dies one day while jogging in the park. Her deep grief helps to awaken Jake’s ghost. Throughout the movie, Jake tries to convince Anna that she should commit suicide to come and join him in the afterlife. Marg plays the role of Anna Hobson and Alan Rosenberg plays the role of Jake.

Gold Coast – Made for cable-television movie about Karen DiCilia (played by Marg), who was married to Frank, a millionaire who has no morals and is also a hypocrite to boot. Although he has been cheating on her for years, he believes that a wife has a duty to be faithful to her husband. When he unexpected dies, he leaves everything to Karen but with some serious strings attached.

Happy Face Murders – The story of an eccentric older woman (Ann-Margret) who implicates her brutal & controlling lover in the murder of a young mentally-challenged girl. Marg plays Jen Powell, the lead detective assigned to the case.

Hearts on Fire – A made-for-television movie that tells the story of what it’s like to be torn between passion and love. The boundaries of friendship, love and family are pushed to the limit in this film. Jarrett, played by Tom Skerritt, is devoted to his wife Anita (Lesley Ann Warren), who has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Marg plays the role of Mickey Woods, a young woman Jarrett hires to help his wife and to help around the house.

Hera – the character Marg voiced for the animated film Wonder Woman.

Hillary Rodham Clinton – Former First Lady, U.S. Senator, and Secretary of State and one of the people Marg lists as an inspiration

Hugh Helgenberger – Marg’s father. Mr. Helgenberger passed away in 1985 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Hugh Howard Rosenberg – Marg’s only child. Born on October 21, 1990 and nicknamed Hughie, he is named in honor of Marg’s father and Alan’s brother.

Inflammable – A made-for-television movie that follows an ambitious young female lawyer, Lt. Kay Dolan, played by Marg, who reunites with a former lover while investigating a sexual harassment case aboard a US Navy support ship that turns into a murder case when the victim is discovered dead.

In Good Company – A film that tells the story of Dan Foreman (Dennis Quaid), who is a loving husband, caring father, and star ad executive. Marg plays Ann Foreman, Dan’s wife, who throws Dan for a loop when she tells him that she is pregnant with their third child.

Intelligence – A drama that airs on CBS that revolves around U.S. Cyber Command, a unit that has been created around one agent with a very special gift: a microchip implanted in his brain that allows him to access the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Marg plays Lillian, the director of Cybercom, the U.S. government’s cybersecurity branch.

Keys – A made-for-television movie that aired in 1994 and was intended to be the pilot for a new series. The story revolves around the investigation into a random murder/assault/child kidnapping of an apparently normal family. Marg plays Maureen ‘Kick’ Kickasola a former medical examiner turned helicopter pilot who gets drawn into working on the case because it strikes a chord with her. Gary Dourdan, Marg’s former CSI costar, also starred in this movie.

King of the Hill – Animated television series about a rigid redneckish propane salesman with a good heart and wacky friends and family. In the episode “Hank’s Back,” Marg plays Mrs. Hanover, the insurance agent who believes Hank is trying to defraud her company.

The Larry Sanders Show – A television sitcom that aired on HBO and starred Garry Shandling. The premise of the show was to take a comedic behind-the-scenes look at a late night talk show by following a talk-show host Larry Sanders as he interacts with the producers and guests. Marg made a guest appearance in the episode ‘Nothing Personal.’ She played Susan Elliott, a PR person for the show and someone that Larry is interested in dating.

The Last Time I Committed Suicide – A film about love, friendship and discovering how to stay a step ahead of the crowd. The protagonist is Neil Cassidy, a young man who is caught between the allure of a drifter’s life on the road free from responsibilities and the stability and security of a traditional home life. Marg plays Lizzy, a woman who tries to help steer Neil down the right path.

Laura Baker – The scientist that Marg portrayed in Species and Species II.

Laura Norwood – The character Marg portrayed in a guest appearance on the long-running series, Matlock.

Laurie Fisher – The character Marg portrayed in Through the Eyes of a Killer.

Lethal Vows – A psychological thriller that is based on a true story. For the past 15 years, Ellen Farris, played by Marg, has battled a mysterious illness that has disrupted her life and destroyed her marriage. Marg’s role in the film is Joanna, former President Douglas’ editor and love interest.

Nancy Sanders – Marg’s manager.

North Bend, Nebraska – the small town Marg grew up in.

Northwestern University – the prestigious university that Marg earned a degree in Speech and Drama from.

Omaha, Nebraska – The closest big city to where Marg grew up & she has mentioned before that she and her friends used to always take roadtrips to Omaha to go shopping and to see concerts.

Partners – Oscar-nominated short film from 1993 that follows the journey of a man who is a junior partner in a law firm. He finds out that the wife of a very important client is a former college sweetheart and contemplates rekindling that former romance even though he knows the move would be a career killer. Marg plays the role of the former college sweetheart, Georgeann Bidwell.

Patsy Ramsey – The role that Marg played in Perfect Murder, Perfect Town.

Peacemaker – A short film that sets about to convey a simple message – the world would be a much better place without bombs and war. It is told through the eyes of a young boy who gets angry because his model kits for tanks and planes get all mixed together before he has had a chance to put them together. His father David Cooper, played by Marg’s husband at the time, Alan Rosenberg, comes to his aid and while helping him with the models, tells a story about his own father and tries to teach his son a valuable lesson about the choices we all have. Marg appears in the flashbacks from the father’s childhood and plays the part of his mother, Mrs. Cooper.

Perfect Murder, Perfect Town – television movie based on true events and the novel by Lawrence Schiller (who also directed) about six year old Jonbenet Ramsey and her family on Christmas Day 1996 and the horrible events that would transpire. Marg plays the role of Patsy Ramsey, Jonbenet’s mother.

Pia Postman – The talk show host that Marg portrayed in Murder Live!.

Questioning – Marg doesn’t just take things lying down. She’s a smart cookie and will question someone if she doesn’t agree or just doesn’t get what they’re doing. Anthony Zuiker mentioned in the A&E Biography about how she would question him if she didn’t understand what he was doing with a scene.

Rachel – The character Marg portrayed in Always.

Roma Fiction Festival – Marg attended the 4th Annual Roma Fiction Festival in Rome, Italy where she received the Award for Artistic Excellence.

Rose Ekberg – Character Marg portrayed in the movie Frame by Frame.

Ryan’s Hope – A soap opera set in Riverside on the upper West Side of Manhattan, Ryan’s Hope centered mostly on the working class Ryans, an Irish-American family headed by Maeve and Johnny Ryan. Marg took over the role of Siobhan Ryan Novak from 1982 until 1986.

Sarah Kellogg – The character Marg portrayed in Fire Down Below.

Shirley Maclaine – A famous actress and one of the people Marg lists as an inspiration.

Siobhan Ryan Novak – The character Marg portrayed in Ryan’s Hope. It was her first television role.

Species – A sci-fi flick that was released in 1995 and due to its popularity spawned two sequels. The Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence Project receives a transmission detailing an alien DNA structure, along with instructions on how to splice it with human DNA. The result is Sil, a sensual but deadly creature who can change from a beautiful woman into an armor-plated killing machine in the blink of an eye. Marg plays Dr. Laura Baker, one of the scientists who is trying to track Sil.

Species II – The first of two sequels that followed the original Species movie. In this sequel, an astronaut gets infected with alien DNA during the first mission on Mars and runs amok on Earth. The surviving team members from the first film team up with a peaceful, genetically re-engineered Sil to track the monster down. Marg reprises her role of Dr. Laura Baker.

Spenser for Hire – Popular mystery/suspense series in the 1980’s that was based on Robert Parker’s “Spenser” novels. Spenser, a private investigator living in Boston, gets involved in a new murder mystery each episode. Marg made a guest appearance in the episode ‘An Eye for an Eye.’ She played a nurse who was part of one of Spenser’s former cases and who gets caught up in someone’s plot to get revenge against Spenser.

Steve Earle – A musician and one of the people Marg lists as an inspiration.

Susan Elliott – Character Marg portrayed in The Larry Sanders Show.

Tales from the Crypt – A popular television series that aired on HBO in the 1990’s. Each episode was a thirty minute tale of horror based on the gruesome EC horror comics from the 1950’s. Marg made a guest appearance on the episode ‘Deadline.’

Thanks of a Grateful Nation – An examination of the aftermath of Desert Storm and how servicemen and women were affected by it medically. Jared Gallimore is one of the servicemen who is affected, and Marg plays the role of Jared’s sister, Jerrilynn.

The Other Place – A play written by Sharr White that Marg played the lead role, Juliana Smithton, in for Barrington Stage Company in the Berkshires in the summer of 2014.

Thirtysomething – Very popular drama that ran in the 1980’s. It centered around Hope and Michael, a married couple in their thirties, living in Philadelphia and struggling with everyday adult angst. Marg made a guest appearance in the episode ‘Weaning,’ where she played up-and-comer Cooper, the young woman who was hired to take Hope’s job while she has been away on maternity leave.

Through the Eyes of a Killer – A psychological thriller about a young woman, Laurie Fisher, who has a brief affair with the contractor, played by Richard Dean Anderson, who is renovating her apartment. The contractor refuses to accept the end of the relationship and wreaks havoc on Laurie’s life. Marg plays the role of Laurie Fisher in this film.

The Tommyknockers – A TV miniseries based on Stephen King’s 1987 novel of the same name. An alien spacecraft has been buried beneath the Burning Woods near the small rural New England community of Haven for millions of years, but has now by chance been unearthed by Bobbi, who is played by Marg, while digging around in the woods behind her house.

 

Under The Dome – A CBS summer series inspired by the Stephen King novel of the same name. Marg joined the Under The Dome cast in season 3 to play Christine Price.

Unique – With the red hair, her appearance is unique, of course. Marg doesn’t fit the model of the typical Hollywood A-lister. There’s much more that makes her unique though that probably comes from her small town upbringing. In the Hollywood setting, she’s unique because she comes across as a regular person just like us rather than a diva.

When Love Kills: The Seduction of John Hearn – A made-for-television movie based on the real life story of John Hearn and Debbie Banister. Debbie Banister, played by Marg, is the vice president of a bank in Gainesville, Florida. She answers an ad that John Hearn has placed in the magazine ‘Soldier of Fortune.’ John Hearn, played by Gary Cole, is a former Marine who served in Vietnam, who is looking to start up a ’security’ business.

Where Are My Children? – A made-for-television movie that based upon a true story. Marg stars as single mother Vanessa Meyer Vernon Scott, who is mysteriously arrested by the FBI and wrongfully has her children taken away from her, thus beginning a 25-year struggle to be reunited with them.

William Petersen – Marg’s costar for nine seasons on CSI.

Wonder Woman – An animated feature that was released directly to DVD by DC comics Animated. Marg plays Hera, Queen of the Gods.

 

 

Yoga – One of Marg’s favorite forms of exercise. She even attended a yoga boot camp one year while on hiatus from CSI.

Yolanda McCleary – The real life CSI that Marg’s CSI character, Catherine Willows, is based on.

Zen – A term that we associate with Marg because of all of the yoga & meditation that she does.
