I’ve gotten a few questions since the announcement that the China Beach DVDs were available for pre-order. I’ve tried my best to answer all of your questions, but please feel free to shoot me an email at suzanne@allaboutmarg.com if you need more information.
1. Are the China Beach DVDs for U.S. only?
According to Time Life customer service, the DVDs are available for the U.S. and Canada only at this time. I’m told that the website for Canadian orders is www.timelife.ca. If you have additional questions about the DVDs themselves, they recommend calling them directly at 1-800-950-7887.
2. What exactly is the difference between the basic box set and the 25th Anniversary Collector’s edition? Does the basic set contain all of the episodes?
Yes, both versions of the DVD set include all of the episodes. Per the Time Life website: “Included in the 25th Anniversary Collector’s Edition are three commemorative scripts, so you can feel just like a cast member preparing for a shoot. Enjoying reading three fan-favorite episodes, the series pilot, “China Beach”, “Vets” and the series finale “Hello, Goodbye.” As a bonus, you’ll also enjoy five beautiful 8×10 photos featuring the cast from throughout the series and one of the actors together again at the cast reunion.”
3. Are the links to order the DVDs that you have provided valid? They look odd.
Yes, the links are valid. They were provided to me as a member of the Time-Life affiliate program, which I was invited to join to help promote the DVDs. Does that mean that commissions are earned? Yes and no. Technically, any U.S. sales that links on my site generate should earn my site a commission. However, I do not wish to make any money doing this, so I will be donating all commissions earned to Stand Up To Cancer. Once the promotion is over and I have a complete report of commissions earned, I’ll post it along with proof that I have donated the same amount to SU2C.
