COJO INVESTIGATES WITH MARG HELGENBERGER
Entertainment Tonight, October 18, 2008
Cojo: I’m giving you an award today. Here is a very special award. Since you’re on the greatest drama show on television, that makes you the ultimate drama queen and I really really want to crown you. May I?
(Cojo puts Drama Queen sash on Marg)
Marg: Who needs an Emmy when you’ve got this thing?
Cojo: Who needs an Emmy when you are the number one drama queen on television?
Marg: Does that mean I’m a…but on television, not in real life?
Cojo: Yeah, on television. Oh, I hear all about things about you backstage as a drama queen.
Marg: I need to be more of a drama queen. I think that…I think I’d be more successful.
Cojo: Why don’t I come hang out on the set with you? Why don’t we spend the day together where I teach you how to be a diva?
Cojo: Do you think there will ever be a CSI movie?
Marg: I thought we were probably past that point, although I heard Billy mention that the other day. I mean it’s gotta be the right story, the right script.
Cojo: The ratings battle last year with Grey’s Anatomy, which you held on to your crown.
Marg: We did.
Cojo: You squashed them again.
Marg: Of course we are…I don’t doubt that.
Cojo: What’s the enduring appeal of the show?
Marg: I think it’s the sum of its parts. I’ve always said that.
Cojo: Strong.
Marg: I think ultimately…I think it’s a very smartly written show. A great mystery show, with incredible style and a cast that has an enormous amount of chemistry, that we’ve had from day one. And it’s well directed. I just think it’s all the things that add up.
Cojo: Are we going be talking season twenty?
Marg: Oh, I don’t know about that.
Cojo: How long do you think you could go?
Marg: I kind of take it season by season.
Cojo: We’re going to play a really really fun game. This one is called ‘Fill in the Blanks.’
Cojo: The one thing that would surprise fans about William Petersen is…
Marg: That he’s really funny. He’s a very funny guy.
Cojo: The thing I always have in my trailer is……
Marg: These bottled teas that I get called Honest Teas.
Cojo: The room in my house that could be mistaken for a crime scene is…
Marg: My office.
Cojo: The actor or actress that I’d most like to play a suspect on my show is…
Marg: I always say Viggo Mortensen.
Cojo: If I could trade roles with any other actress currently on TV, I’d pick…
Marg: I mean, I love Mad Men so maybe one of the actresses on that show.
Cojo: My current TV guilty pleasure is…
Marg: Football
Cojo: Okay.
Cojo: The one actress I am most often mistaken for is…
Marg: Well I’ll tell you he one that I like the most that I’m mistaken for is Michelle Pfeiffer.
Cojo: That’s a good one.
Marg: Yes. I always love hearing that one.
Cojo: If I wasn’t an actress I’d most likely be….
Marg: I think writing would be… I mean, obviously, I think you’ve got to have some skill at it and some talent, which I don’t. But if I did have the talent, I think probably writing.
